Our parent company, SOFTWARE ENGINEERING GMBH, was founded in 1979 by Gerhard Schubert. The head office is in Düsseldorf, Germany, along with a European sales division. A development lab is split between Düsseldorf and Munich.
SEGUS Inc was founded in Virginia, in 1992, as a wholly-owned subsidiary of SOFTWARE ENGINEERING GMBH. Located in the Washington DC suburbs, SEGUS operates independently and provides product sales and support to the North American market.
In 1998, SEGUS acquired the exclusive rights to market and sell HORIZONT Software GmbH products in North America. HORIZONT specializes in products in and around what is now known as IBM(TM) Workload Scheduler. These products are developed in Munich, Germany and Budweis, Czech Republic.
In 2014, HORIZONT Software GmbH was acquired by Beta Systems AG in Berlin, Germany. Beta was founded in 1983 and has been publicly traded since 1997.
Beta products are sold in North America by Beta Systems Software of North America, Inc. – also located in Northern Virginia.
